In the Asian film department, the biggest news in the list of films on the MSPIFF website is Hong Sang-soo's Woman on the Beach. Hong, probably one of the most important South Korean film directors working today, has made seven films and his eighth, Night and Day, is due out this year. This will be the first time ever one of his films has screened in the Twin Cites.
Jia Zhang Ke's Still Life is a knock-out as well.
